SHAH ALAM, MALAYSIA – June 10, 2026 – Selangor Red Giants Esports (SRG), in strategic alliance with Yayasan Menteri Besar Selangor (MBI), is proud to announce the official launch of the SRG Esports School 2026. This landmark initiative signals a new era for regional esports, blending competitive excellence with structured digital education to foster the next generation of digital athletes and leaders.

The program aims to institutionalize esports within Selangor’s school ecosystem, establishing a safe, structured and sustainable environment that cultivates grassroots talent. By developing a robust pipeline for young players, culminating in a series of tournaments to identify and elevate top emerging talent, the initiative ensures that esports is recognized as a legitimate platform for youth development.

Supported by our strategic partners including Moonton, Esports Integrated (ESI), ZTE | Nubia, WTM Media, Playaz, and Maqna Momento, the SRG Esports School 2026 transcends traditional sports training. It is designed to shift public perception by embedding digital sports into educational frameworks. Focusing on cultivating essential life skills such as teamwork, discipline and technological fluency to prepare students for the rapidly evolving digital economy.

Mr. Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor, Head of Yayasan MBI Selangor, said:

"For Yayasan MBI, esports is a massive industry with a very wide ecosystem. Our participation is a manifestation of our ongoing commitment to human capital development among Selangor’s youth. We want to see our youths excel not just digitally, but with strong leadership values, ethics and high competitiveness. SRG Esports has proven that esports is no longer a meaningless video game, they have paved the way for the state government to see its immense potential in youth development and the creative economy."

Dr. Johan Kamal Hamidon, Chief Executive Officer of Selangor FC, said:

"What we are building today is no ordinary collaboration. For us, this step reflects the unification of organizations sharing a deep-rooted belief, that today’s esports and digital industry is no longer just about video games.

The future of esports must be built on a foundation of education, community, and sustainability. We want to transform how young talent is scouted and nurtured in Malaysia. This esports school initiative is not a short-term project; it is the foundation of a long-term strategic journey to build well-rounded players who possess the discipline and leadership required outside the competitive arena."

The SRG Esports School 2026 rolls out starting today, actively targeting local schools across Selangor to bridge the gap between education, technology, and professional digital sports.
